I have run into this several times. When I do a fresh install of SCO, I choose Hi Res mouse driver for a PS/2 mouse in the setup. The gui comes up fine. If I should switch the mouse to another PS/2 mouse, the gui won't start up and fails. When I try to link another mouse driver from the list of choices, I can't seem to find a driver that will work. What is the problem here? I'm using SCO 5.0.6 (same thing happend with 5.0.4).

Thanks in Advance

How would we know without your telling us what mouse you used and what drivers you tried?

Sorry, did forget some important details. The mouse I'm using is a Microsoft PS/2 Intellimouse with Wheel. Also I'm using a Linksys Proconnect switch 4-channel to use my keyboard, monitor, and mouse on 4 Servers. Of course the Windows machines have no problem with this, and my Sco box at home has no problem with this same configuration at home. So I'm left to believe it's a mouse driver problem in Unix. Since I wrote this problem in, the GUI has now come up, but the mouse operation is unstable. I have tried all three Intellimouse drivers, and I get the same behaviors. I think I'll just change out the mouse to a plain vanilla mouse.

I will report on the results of the new mouse.
