Everyone: I don't know what to do with this. The long and short of it is this:

The HD keeps on flairing up intermittently. Sometimes for short bursts, that is, the light is on for a short time, sometimes though keeps on grinding for longer periods. When
I make fairly fast circling movements on the pad, the mouse hesitates (stumbles) the same time as the HD's bursts happen. If music is on, the sound gets blured in the same moments (no mouse movements). I went through all of the processes, but all are at 00. The processor is permanently at 23-28% with some curve, elevated, on the graph. However, the curve is not the usually sharp edged, but round and looks more like that of a rectifier at its DC output (sort of upside down capital U's in series). Of course, some program may do this. I scanned for viruses, none found. My AV software is kept strictly up to date.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

John
