Annoying 'Messenger' popup dialog messages 2

Can anyone please tell me how to prevent these'Messenger' popup dialog boxes appearing when I go on line.

I'm running XP with its firewall, Norton Internet Sec 2005 and have scanned my system using Ad-Aware SE Personal but still these little blighters pop up asking me to download from

http://www.updatepatch

Advice appreciated

Go to:

http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx

Run Antispyware and if needed Spybot Search & Destroy. This should fix your problem. If not, run Hijack This and post your log file and we will help you out.

Are you taking about pop-up ads or messages like "So and so has just logged in?"

If you have installed messenger plus in addition to messenger and you are getting popups, you likely have a problem with lop.

Are your registry and data backed up?
