Annoying file saving default!!

I am into photography and download from various sites pictures that I find interesting. Most sites have their pictures in jpg format, which is fine for me.

I have noticed that at times whenever I try to save a picture file the Save as Type box only provides me with one option "Bitmap (*.bmp)"! Normally, I have either a jpg or bmp option, with jpg being the default. Of course, I can always force the save as a jpg file by typing the extension into the File Name box, but I find this somewhat annoying.

I also note that when everything is working as it should, the file name from the website shows up in the File Name box... but when I run into the bmp only problem the name shows up as "Untitled"!

I have no clue as to why this happens, but it does every once in a while and stays this way for some time. Then for some unknown reason the system reverts back to the proper saving routine!

I would appreciate any thoughts on how to fix and control this.

Note: not regularly emptying your temporary internet file cache is the #1 reason for this behavior.

The internet file cache was the culprit... made for an easy fix.
