Hey guys,

i have a little problem with a customers IPO (IP500v2, 6.0.14, VMPro).

The customer uses 'logout extension' to log off from their phones if they are not at ther desks. The want to avoid many ringing phones of absent users in big offices.

To avoid that persons who call these logged out users get a busy tone and ask why the user talks so much the customer likes to play an announcement that the extension is not in use. BUT... nevertheless if the extension is busy the caller should get the busy tone.

I tried to set the VMPro-Module as fallback extension but if I do so the announcement is played if the user is busy, too. My first idea was to set call forwarding for user 'no user' but that didn't work, too.

I hope here are some ideas to solve that problem.

Thanks in advance...

You need to use a " route call status" action.
This will get as close as you can get for this.

honey, i fried the IP Office !!!

Sarcasm, it's only one of the services I offer.

Thanks for your idea tlpeter.

I tested it today but my problem is that VMPro uses routes the call as an busy call so I'm not able to differentiate between calls to logged out users an to busy users...

I had a similar problem

I used VMPro to route calls via the Assisted Tranfer feature

I checked the status of a huntgroup containing 40 Logged in users with the Queuing option disabled. If no user logged in BUSY would be returned and callers were routed to a message staing the call could not be taken at this time

If someone was logged in to the Huntgroup the call eas passed to a huntgroup setup identical to the first one except Queuing is now enabled and Announcements also enabled to give callers status messages.

I was thinking of using the voicemail option to play the announcement and use a forward on no answer to send it to a fake non usable extension.
Meaning if the caller calls and the extension is logged out it will go to voicemail right away and play the announcement telling them Call back later or something like that (or "Rufen Sie bitte spaeter nochmal an") If the extension is logged in then it will go after the no answer time to a fowrad target that doesn't work and get a busy signal.

Might work, I haven't tested it but it might be worth a shot. Just had a 75 hour week and just don't want to program any more on my home system tonight.

I did it that way:

I created a shortcode 990 which points to an VMPro-Module playing my announcement.

I activatet forward on no answer for every user to 990. And I set an no anser timer with 30 sec so that IPO doesn't play the announcement to early.

Thanks for your hints.
