Announcement for Inbound DID Calls

Ok. This is a weird one. Don't ask.It is a management thing.......sigh.......

A request has been made that when every DID call comes in, they want the call routed to an announcement then to the DID extension. I can easily get all calls from the incoming trunk treatment to an announcement, but that's about it. Could something be done where the inbound DID call is sent from incoming trunk treatment to a vector and somehow store the DID number in a variable, play the announcement and then send the call to the DID number stored in the variable?

Or, if I'm way off base, another suggestion??

It is not an easy job to accomplish and very time consuming to setup.

Have you spoken to your Telco to see if there is something they can do on their side?
