Can I set up Impromptu to list info on data elements/columns with right-click, status bar text, etc.?
And How?
I read about setting up Annotation Server but it doesn't say how a user interacts with it.

RSweetMan,

Annotation Server allows your users to access additional information about your catalog(annotations) from within Impromptu. The expectation is that this information is stored in some kind of external data source and can be referenced by the user in the Query dialog box, folders dialog box or expression editor. You can create the annotation server in any application that
can build a COM server -- see imasteps.pdf (Step by Step Impromptu Catalogs) (Chapter 20 for details). Within the context of Visualizer, there is mention of an Annotation Server but I don't think it's the same thing there -- perhaps someone can shed light on those tools.

As far as getting specific users to users when running Impromptu reports -- aside from utilizing frames and macro's which would be executed by the user within the context of a specific frame on a report, to provide specific information about the selected frame....I know no other way of providing interactive information within the Impromptu client app...

Good luck,

Pedro Cardoso
