We are asked this question at least once a week by all the anime lovers, who visit our site. I guess, the proper question here should be: Can the NEW Photoshop 6 help one make animes (not just stills, but 2D animations, otherwise called, "motion graphics", like its big brother, Adobe After Effects?
In fact the Adobe After Effects is known by professional animators (check DV Magazine, 12/2000, pg.36) as THE BEST in price/quality animation production package on the market today. However, comparing to Photoshop 5/6 it is far too expensive (only the upgrade is about $1500) and far too complicated to learn and use on your own! The After Effects' cousin, Aura 2 (NewTek), is only about $800, but is even more complicated, than the After Effects...
So, will the NEW Photoshop 6 save the anime artists' and fans' day by allowing them at least to create basic animations, say like the new and extremely inexpensive VideoPaint of Ulead 6? That would be a relief, huh?
Please, let me/us know ASAP!
