Animated Items - Not working.

Just wondering what's going on with XP, some days when I go to forums I see animated emoticons etc, I can see the animation. But in most cases, 95% of the time I don't see animations of any sort even though I know they are animations.... when building website I know I have an animated GIF on that page, when I publish though it doesnt show it to be animated.

I've downloaded Java stuff to try to fix the problem, but nothing gives. Any ideas?

My own thoughts:

1. 50 percent chance this will do it. You can copy and paste the below into a notepad session as ie_fix.cmd and just click it, or enter these instructions though Start, Run, CMD one-by-one:

regsvr32 urlmon.dll
regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 Msjava.dll
regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 Mshtml.dll
regsvr32 Browseui.dll
regsvr32 Shell32.dll

2. Spend a little time reading this discussion: thread608-602478

3. While it introduces some petty annoying problems, I have found applying from Windows Update the "November 2003 Cumulative Patch for Internet Explorer" resolves imaging issues.
