Animated Gif Problem

I have ImageReady 3.0 and want to produce an animated gif with a transparent background. I have the animation like I want it ...BUT... each frame has the other layers showing up in the background. I have tried to play with the layers panel clicking and unclicking eyes but have not found a system that works. How can I get only one layer to show up in each frame ....PPPPPPlease.
