I create a technical manual that has graphics/pictures. I need to anchor the picture to the text so when I have to add text or items before it will follow in place. I am old school Ventura and we use to anchor the picture...

HELP... my boss is ragging me TODAY!!!!

Thanks

InDesign doesn't have the same kind of anchored frame feature yet. You can create inline graphics however, that flow with the text. You can select, copy and paste into the text stream.

Do these graphics hang in marginal columns or in the body copy?

I have got exactly the same problem...this is very annoying.

In a document transformed from XPress to InDesign, I have text that is associated with the pictures. Since the text in InDesign takes more space, the text associated to the pictures appears after the pictures.

Is there another way than inline frames to link this associated text to the pictures (90 documents, some with more than 300 pictures) ?

Thanks for your help

We had the same problem in a database publishing project. For this we built a small plug-in. Actually a beta test (MAC ID CS) is running.
