Using Excel 2003.

Was using the Data Analysis Histogram tool in the Analysis ToolPak add-in just yetserday with absolutely no problems. Today, when I try creating a Histogram, Excel is crashing when I attempt to reference a tab other than the one that's currently active when selecting Input Range or Bin Range. I simply get the message

"Microsoft Office Excel has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

I've restarted Excel multiple times, restarted the computer, tried different workbooks, and tried unloading then loading the ToolPak again. Nothing is fixing the problem. Seems like something has gotten corrupted.

I really need this working...any suggestions for fixing this?

hi,

try removing the add-in.

see if you can reference another tab.

if so, then add it back in and see what happens.

I can reference other tabs just fine in normal operations...its just additional computations in the Analysis Toolpak (i.e. correlations, histograms, ect) that are causing a problem, even though I was using them just fine yesterday. As I said, already tried unloading and reloading the add-in. Perhaps I should completely delete the associated file from the PC and re-download it? Would that help? If so, how would I go about doing that?

In Windows explorer try finding a file with XLB extension and delete it and see if that helps. You will lose any personal custimization that you may have applied to Excel.

If that does not work, make sure you have the latest SP for your Office version. Remove the add-in before installing the service pack and add the Tool pack again after installing.
