The fact table for a timecard cube includes a date field corresponding to the date the time was submitted. I would like to create a time dimension based on this date field. Does Analysis Services allow me to create a time dimension from a field in the fact table? If so, could someone explain to me how to do this?

It's the same as creating a time dimension from any table. USe the Wizard to guide you, select your fact table as the source, then select the date field from that table, then select which hierarchy you want (year, quarter, monthe etc) from each of the successive screens.
Easy.
