Analyse Traffic between routers?

Hello, I have 2 cisco 1603 routers. They have a ISDN line between them to connect remote users. The performance is particularly bad and I wondered if there was a way I could anaylse the traffic through the routers to get a overall picture of whether or not the traffic is reaching capacity.

I'm new to cisco, so any help at all would be appreciated.

MRTG is awsome! You get that setup correctly and you'll love it, i do anyway..

i'm not sure of the command on the 1603, but the one I know of this:

show int serial ?/?

And that gives you an idea of what all the traffic adds up to, beside the "Incoming packets per ?" and "Outgoing"

About being able to get down to the packet-by-packet monitoring, if you find something be sure to post it back here.. i've been looking for something FREE for a long time.. could always use a sniffer though..

You may like to see if your routers support netflow for a quick and dirty idea of what is going on.

will break traffic down into protocols and I do not think there is too much cpu overhead.

I learnt this from this forum so do a search...

Thanks for your help, I ended up using MRTG and then moved onto the RRD tool which was really useful.
