Hey all. I want to preface this by pointing out that I am brand new to supporting our Nortel phone system so my questions might be borderline dumb. I'm a network engineer that's having to learn phone stuff all of a sudden haha. Anyways, I was curious about digital ports and analog ports. I have an office that wants to have a digital phone, 2616, where an analog port is. Would it be as easy as moving the cable from an analog terminal to a digital one? Or does a whole new cable to need to be ran that uses the 4 pairs as opposed to just the 1. Thanks for your time!

No need to run a new cable. Both digital and Analogue phones just need a pair of wires. However, the digital phones are polarity connected and in the UK, we have to use a different set of connectors at the jack end.

Thanks so much for your help, Firebird! I've since just been reconnecting analog ports to digital terminals and I haven't had any issues! Smooth sailing!
