Hie to you all.

Have a client with a 200 analog trunks & is interested in getting an MXe & having 400 analog stations. The problem is that we are in a part of the world were ISDN PRI is not available so we have to make use of the analog.

Now buying 25 ASUIIs with 4+12 cards just to connect the trunks is not our best option as the cards will use up slots we need to use for 24ONS to connect stations .We will end up requiring a lot of ASUIIs making the installation very huge & demanding more Mxe controllers.

Does anyone know of a device that we can connect all our analog trunks to then get an E1 output from it to connect to E1 ports on the Mxe?
thank you

I would try getting SIP involved.
200 analog trunks :)

Why can analog trunks be provided but not PRI?

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Even if you could you would still need multiple controllers as you would require a trunking gateway controller and then station controller. Do Mitel still sell the peripheral cabinets and ls/gsm trunk cards as this may be the best option

The MXe will support both SX200 and SX2000 peripheral cabinets. In those cabinets you can install Loop start ground start trunk cards. Each card in the SX2000 cabinet can hold 8 analog circuits. Not exactly sure of the capacity of the SX200 nodes. So you would need to be able to find the cabinets. The SX2000 ones are manufactored discontinued. The SX200 are still available. Benefit of the cards in a cabinet is they can be both loop and ground start. ASUII's are loop only.

SX2000 is 12 card slots
SX200 is 8 card slots.

Also the MXe doesn't have native E1 ports it requires a T1/E1 module.

The single biggest problem with communications is the illusion that it has taken place.

Thank you for your responses but still need to know if there is any device that can convert analog trunks to E1 then connect to the T1/E1 module on the Mxe.
I know that such a device is there for GSM to E1..
I could use peripheral cabinets but they have been discontinued.
This part of the world really doesnt have ISDN PRI for sure but have analog PRI instead but my understanding is that this doesnt work on Mitel.
More suggestions accepted.
