We are currently using GATM8 modules with Analog phone lines. We are considering switching to CTM8 so that our office would be able to call out on line one using the aux port associated with it. It appears that if the BCM is having problems that this would allow outgoing calls from some internal relays on the CTM8. What will happen if there are problems with the BCM and a call comes in on line1, will it detect there are problems and connect to the phone on the aux port or just go unanswered. I believe it would be unanswered but wanted to verify that.
Thanks,

I would think the GATMs would have Aux. Power Fail lines also, but don't know for sure. The answer is they work when power fails to the BCM. You can't recieve calls, because your BCM is dead in the water. You wire a jack out in the office somewhere, and connect an analog telephone. It allows for emergency outbound calling on a seperate telephone.

I noticed that the documentation for the GATM shows wiring for a Aux port on pins 50/25 of the amphenol connector, but no documentation of what it is used for. I guess with the CTM is there is no power then calls coming in on line1 will also route to the AUX port and it would ring there since it appears to be connected to port 1.
Thanks,
Larry
