Switch has 2-4 port analog trunk modules and digital stations. Complaints of sporadic echo on calls. LEC has tested trunks and of course found no problem. The 3.1(29) line form (analog tab) has no field for echo cancellation even though the help button identifies such a field. Ideas anyone?

The echo cancelation is only for the Atm4u. It does not apply to the ATM4.

The ATM4U or Uni or Universal is a newer version of the ATM4 trunk card. It replaces the previous country/region specific ATM4 trunk cards (so probably cost advantages to Avaya) and supports the extra adjustable echo cancellation options.

I also am getting echo on analog trunks.

My trunks are delivered via a t1 and broken out with an adtran channel bank. I wonder if this is part of the problem.

did you get your echo resolved ever.

I do have atm4u cards not the atm4 so maybe I can tweak them?

Try adjusting the Gains on the 'Analog' tab for each line.

Tx = 3.0dB
Rx = -3.0dB

I had a site experiencing echo, and after changing the values to these settings, the echo went away completely.

I'll give it a try. We had the carrier come out. They blew away the config on their adtran and re-loaded it. The echo went away for a brief while then came back.

We have the ATM4u cards so it has echo canceling settings which seemed to do more bad then good when messing with them so we went back to defaults on the echo cancelling settings.

We will try your recommendations for the Gains and let you know how it went.

Thanks for the advice.
