Have a assisted living facility customer. Recently opened. Wants to add 85 S/L phones for patient beds. My original proposal was for 85 Cortelco 250044-VBA-20MD - Standard Desk Telephone-Ash. I also could use the Cortelco 250044-VOE-20MC - 2500 SET- BASIC-ELECTRONIC RINGER-ASH. These phones will be plugged into Phone30 modules.

My concern is that the phones will ring. Had an issue already with some Cortelco 2554 wall phones plugged into analog ports on the combo cards. The phone which was alone in a combo card rang fine. The two phones that were on the other combo card didn't ring at all.

Any input as to ringing support would be helpful.

thank you.

The ports on IPO have a REN value of 2, so any handset/device needs to run with a value below that, even loud ringing bells only need 1.5 usually. I imagine your issue was with the lower voltage of the system compared to PSTN line. Make sure the handsets you use are PABX compatible and you should be fine. Analogue phones are very low cost and there are literally thousands of different manufacturers and models out there, so you will not find a list of all compatible phones :)

With a Phone30 module, You should not have any problems, even the older brick type phones with mechanical bell.
Combo card is a different story, they are sensitive. Most combo cards I had to replace were because Customers plug in computers, digital phone in analog port, and vise versa. It Doesn't take much to kill a port on a combo card, I would on put phones with low REN on them.

We often use Cortelco 240085-VOE-21F in an assisted living environment - works great. Big button phones that residents like, electronic ringer that we like. Been using for years with no complaints.
