I have been having a problem getting analog single line telephones to work on my 406 2.1.27. Either the ringing voltage won't ring the bell, or the message waiting light won't light. The only analog telephone I could get to work is the Avaya 6211. Can anyone tell me if they were able to get others to work?

joecolombo,

i can say that any generic analog phone should work, but the message waiting lamp is a completely separate story. there are numerous ways to light that lamp, avaya uses +60 volts dc and this is working only with neon lamps afaik. so i guess no phones besides avaya's will light the lamp, but the phone itself should work. as for the ringing voltage, check your country settings.
in my experience, panasonic phones are working okay, even caller id works correctly.

I have a problem whereby the Message lamp is continious light up , any way to turn the lamp off via shortcode?

Nokarro,

no you can't but you should check the voice mail account for this user and see if there are any messages left for him. if you erase messages, voice mail should automatically shut the lamp off.
