I have a customer with an Opt 11 with a console that has a nit dn that goes to a 2616 phone next to it. They will cfw that phone to other phones if the operator is gone or to an analog port dn which is connected to 4 bells. The problem is when it is cfw to the analog port it works most of the time, the bell rings, people can use call pickup to answer the call, but they are saying that sometimes, usually when they come in in the morning the bell is ringing and ringing but when someone uses call pick up no one is on the line. I'm thinking that sometimes someone calls then when no one answers, they hang up but the call keeps ringing. Has anyone had this problem? Is there any type of disconnect supervision? I read about using CLS LDTA (line disconnect tone allowed) Would this work since the analog port is not hooked up to a phone, just the bells? Thanks.

Are your incoming trunks analog or digital? If analog, are the loop or ground start?

Digital (PRI) using LDTA would be on the analog port connected to the bells, correct?

LDTA is not going to help you with the bell issue, something else is going on. For LDTA to work the connected device needs to recognize the burst of dial tone, and the bell doesn't do that.

500/2500 Line Disconnect
500/2500 Line Disconnect is invoked when the system detects on-hook/disconnect supervision
from a party connected to an analog (500/2500-type) port. Dial tone is sent to this port for a
specified period of time (the default is six seconds) which is defined in LD 15 at the Line
Disconnect Tone Timer (LDTT) prompt.
It is used when the analog (500/2500-type) port is connected to an automated attendant or
voice mail. It allows the system to know that it is not connected to a telephone, and to
disconnect if the other telephone has hung up (for example, during an automated message
or a voice mail message).

I think LDTA just allows Tone to the device and then that device hangs up like mail, IVR, or devices like that. If that don't work you can use the NT1R20 Off-Premise Station Analog Line card or maybe even look at an alerter for digital instead of analog.

In LD 15 check the settings for FMOP and set them to DIS DAR which will disconnect the external calls afer re-ringing the transferring extension. If the CO lines coming into the Option are analogue you can set the Force Disconnect Timer to disconnect the call after 30 mins or whatever you choose if the Analogue lines are holding up the circuit.
