After we upgraded to cm 6.3 a few of our analog phones are going out of service. We release them and they are ok for awhile. We have changed ports and tested the copper and see no problems. the boards are mm716.

Did you update your MM716 firmware? Firmware version (Vintage 103)

we are HW 12 ver 98. Does 103 fix the problem?

Not sure but its either firmware or you need to busyout/release board but you are on hardware version 12 so i'm not sure if the firmware is compatible.

From 103 release notes:
Changes from V102 to V103 -
^M
A. Fixed issue with LINE ports getting stuck with no dial-tone.

B. Fixed error in Busy/Release of a shorted DID trunk port. Board firmware
will not reactivate a shorted DID trunk port as it can damage the
hardware.
