We have an NEC IPS2000. The analog lines (DTR-1-1 phones) have developed a very weak ringtone of late (Digital phones are fine). Let me know what you think is the cause/cure. Thanks!

The ring generator is built into the power supply. Each PIM has one. Is this a 1 or multi-PIM system? Do SLT's in other PIMs have the same issue?
Is it all SLT's or are some OK? Could be a bad phone.
You may have a defective phone or a power supply on it's way out (at least for SLT ring generator).

Thank you for the information! I'm looking into this. I have created a spreadsheet of lines to LEN's in the past. I have 4 PIM's but I'm not sure how to identify a LEN to a card to verify if SLT has poor ring tone in more than one PIM. I haven't gone to every SLT phone to verify poor ring tone, but the ones I have checked are poor. We have most of the pn-8lcak cards in PIM 4, but a couple in PIM 3. Identifying the lines associated with the cards in PIM 3 will help me answer your question.

There is a port busy LED for each port on every card. If you can stand in front of the KSU's and call them, when they answer, the LED goes solid.
As for reading LENs numbers, if you can get a LENS print out with MatWorX, you will see a 5 digit LEN number.
00000-00063 = PIM 0
00064-00127 = PIM 1
01000-01063 = PIM 3
etc.

Thanks a million! I have two PIMs with the SLT cards, and was able to identify that only SLT associated with the top PIM had poor ring tone. Thanks again, you really are a great help.
