CM 4.0/G650 migrating to CM 6.3/G450
I'm moving an amphenol cable from Analog Board TN793B to Analog Media Module MM716 and the MM716 just alarms constantly.

Any ideas why?

I will try removing the analog ports assigned and re-test and reset the G450 gateway.

o 10 BASE T CAT E106583 (06-34271) 24 AWG TYPE CMR (UL) C(UL) CMG-IEEE 802.3 - Amphenol current cable
o The 24 ports are provided via a 25 pair RJ21X amphenol connector – Avaya G450 Documentation/requirement
o (not sure if these are the same/compatible)

Thank you,

could be a lot of things, start by verifying what are all the pairs on the 25 pair cable connected to, I would x out all of the ports and add them back one at a time until the alarm comes back, and go from there

I think you may be on to something. I put a amphenol conected to nothing, added one port and made a phone call... Thank you, I will try this with the real cable during my maintenance window and see how it goes. (photo in attachment)

I thought so, most likely a digital phone is connected to the far end of one of the cable pairs, could also be a data switch port that someone plugged into, so card is fine now to find out where the culprit is

Hi, I tested moving this amphenol cable with all analog ports "x" port, it did the same thing, alarm immediately. I opened a ticket with Avaya and after two hours they have no idea.
(There are no digital phones in their environment).

This amphenol cable is a 50 pair run to a 110 block, all hard wired, there is not a "quick disconnect" amphenol at the 110 block.

If you see my photo above, I put a B25B-SE-15 amphenol cable on the MM716 connect with butt set and can make phone calls.

I'm looking to see if there is some adaptor or way to make this existing 110 block and amphenol cable work.

Thank you,

so if you remove the 25 pair cable does the alarm go away?

Hi Joe,

Nope, it keeps blinking red until I busy/release the board. A strange thing is it does not generate an alarm in the CM. (The plot thickens!)

latest firmware? you could have a flaky MM716 card. Did you purchase this card new?

It is a refurbished card with FW100 (latest), there are two of them, both same issue. In the photo I have an amphenol connected to MM716 and split off a pair connect to butt sett and I can make a call off of that Analog card. This tells me the card and firmware work fine. It's when I add the amphenol formerly on the G650 TN793B, to the MM716, the red alarm light starts flashing. The G650 analog works just fine on the same cable...
