Alright, this is admittedly a really low tech problem that's driving me nuts...
I have an analog station that has an Xpressions mailbox profile that has been working for years..
For some reason, the user no longer has broken dial tone to indicate a message waiting. I have gone into Xpressions and multiple UpdateMWI on the mailbox, did ClearMWI and then UpdateMWI, downed and upped the SLMA port, still no broken DT....

What am I missing here? Is this something that dropped out of the V8 Os4000? or has this not been a feature for analog phones for sometime??? Am I too old to do this work anymore??

Thanks in advance....

Cannot tell if is the same for V8, but in V6 R2, to have broken dial tone when MWI is ON :

CHANGE-ZAND:TYPE=TONES,CP=MWI,SIU=3;

For IPDA:
CHANGE-UCSU:UNIT=AP,LTG=1,LTU=17,CP=MWI,SIU=3;
To apply the change on the IPDA (this will restart the NCUI):
EXEC-USSU:MODE=NCUILOAD,LTU=17,FILES=LW;
EXEC-USSU:MODE=UPDATAP,LTU=17;

Additional things to check :
- param. PMIDX in SCSU to match with IDX param. in RICHT:pM (trunk to XPR)
- param. DHPAR=MWLED in SCSU
- param. MB in COSSU (DTE,VCE)
- check also MBOFF in WABE

When Xpressions or Phonemail sends a MWI Activate over the trunk to the Hipath 4000, it searches circuit 0 first.
If circuit 0 is not configured, the MWI will fail.
Circuit 0 must be configured on the STMI circuit.
For example:1-1-2-0. If only 1-1-2-1 is configured, the MWI will fail.
It is not required for circuit 0 to be a trunk to Xpressions or even the same protvar. It only needs to be configured.

Also a device regen (delete-> re-add) is recommended (not only a port restart).
And/or a test with another (new) similar analog device.

For V8 R1.19.X there is a correction included in HF3 ( MSC28239 - PSF0281 ):
MWI from analog port not switching off the mailbox led.

Wow, thanks for that! I don't think I would have found this..
I looked at on of my old V7 backups, I see this command in RMX -- CHANGE-UCSU:AP,1,18,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,MWI,3,,,,;
None of my AP shelves in the V9 system have any of the UCSU change commands in the backup, and when I display the UCSU I see -- MWI : 1 .

So it looks like it has either changed in V9 or it was lost in the upgrade....

Thanks again...

Just to add to this....

Find out what the MBON/MBOFF code is in WABE

DIS-WABE:GEN,,,,MBON;
DIS-WABE:GEN,,,,MBOFF;

You can then use that code from an ANALOG phone to send MWI ON / OFF to another phone.
