We are trying to make multi-party conferencing work with our Polycom SoundStation. As of right now, it doesn't work.

We are using a analog line for the Polycom Soundstation. According to Polycom, the Soundstation itself supports mult-party conferencing and the issue is whether or not the analog line supports multi-party conferencing.

Does this make sense?

Any suggestions to make this work in our 3300 ICP environment?

The process to create a conference on an analog station is convoluted.

Establish 1st call

To add aditional parties:
Flash - system returns dialtone
Establish next call
Flash - system returns dialtone **see note
Dial Feature access code for Conferencing
Conference established
repeat for each additional caller.

** if system toggles back to first caller at this point then you need to disable COS option Call Waiting - Flash for waiting call.

The process that you provided worked when we were using a plain old analog line and not using the Mitel ASU.

In the COS form, I couldn't find the wording that you used. "Call Waiting - Flash for waiting call."

ok so sometimes when setting up the Polycom to work you have to set the flash timers to match. In the poycom it's in the menu somewhere. In the Mitel it's in the ons Circuit Descripter,
Ensure the station to support Calibrated Flash is connected to a port on a revision "C" ONS line card (MC320Cx).

Ensure that no feature access code is programmed as "1" in the Feature Access Code Assignment form.

Enter the following parameters in the ONS/OPS Circuit Descriptor Assignment form:
- Flash Type: Calibrated
- Low Flash Timer: blank
- High Flash Timer: value
- Ground Button: no.

I found "Call Waiting Swap."

Thanks for your response guys.

I'll give it a try.

Just a comment/clarification. By using the flash hook on the ONS set you are actually setting up a conference on the 3300.

So the statement that the Polycom unit 'supports multi-party conferencing', it may, but you're not using it. It's acting like a regular POTS endpoint.
