Is there something out there that will read back the DN of a phone I am calling from? For example... I come across some ratty old analog phone, or a digital phone without a display - have no idea what the DN of it is. Instead of bugging someone all the time to read back the number I'm calling from - is there a "black box" so to speak that'll do it for me? Kinda like when checking POTS lines on a demark, you can dial a carrier's ANAC code (i.e., 1-800-444-4444) that'll read the number back to you.

Also - something that will record something for say 5-10 seconds and play it back in the same call (i.e., testing for 1-way audio issues). Anything out there like that?

Just left field service and now the on-site guy servicing a large facility with some needs. Trying to save time/headaches.

Thanks.

Callpilot you can leave a message and course you will of heard the greeting that will check two way audio.

For tracing the phone you could always dial out on PRI with DCH Monitor on and then in LD 80 TRAD the trunk port while the call is in progress

Of course calling someone with a display is much simpler that's why most people do it that way.

You could dial your own phone and get the number out of the log on the phone if it has one
