Has anyone heard of a new virus that propogates an old chain letter titled "An Irish Friendship Wish" thru email. It doesn't appear to propogate the virus itself thru email, just the chain letter.

We have a few remote sites that are on their own exchange servers that have employees sending several similar emails, all with the chain letter included.

I've checked several virus checker sites, but come up empty so far. Jon Hawkins

I did some checking, and didn't find anything either.

Note though, that you can attach a virus to anything, including old forwards like that.

Do you have any updates or more information?

I have not seen anything like this in the field either....might just have to filter to be on the safe side. Kimber

Thanks.

It turned out that the users were in fact, forwarding the emails voluntarily. However, once they discovered it was a violation of company policy, they denied ever forwarding. Jon Hawkins

Cute....not unheard of though.

Glad you figured it out, because I have seen the email you are referring to, and despite effort came up with nothing.

Happy you have a resolution. :) Kimber
