Hi if you guys got time I could use some constructive criticism. I can make things work but I don't pretend to be a good designer. All help would be greatly appreciated. This is a personal site I use to try things out on.

I checked it out briefly cause I'm short for time and will get back more but one thing
the drop down nav menu drops out of the screen in 1024*768
just raise the table a bit and it should be fine.

Hmm, Onpoint I don't have the dropdown menu(Site Links) dropping off my screen with 1024X768 on my puter. If you're sure I'll change it so it doesn't drop down as far. It used to with 600x800 but I fixed it now. Is that what you meant? I've got a redirect script on my homepage if the user doesn't view the site in 1024x768 to an 800x600 version but my main focus is on 1024x768 (my favourite resolution). The reason I don't use frames to adjust to resolution is because there's a little person in my life that wants "her picture" on it that she took all by herself. Thanks for your input I'm looking forward to more comments from you. I've checked your site and I am impressed.

Hmm, Maybe it's my screen. 15inch laptop. the Bookmark ends up just off the bottom.
here's some other ideas.
The scroll bar should have a different track color. Better for visual to see you can scroll down. try a white border on it and a white track. should look good!

I like the window status marquee!

In the favorties links you spelled tek-tips tech-tips

everything else looks great, good job glen [thumbsup2]

Have you tried putting a size in the picture? You probably know about
<img width=&quot;250&quot; height=&quot;200&quot;>
That way you could make the screen size smaller.

Rick

glen, thank you for the compliment on my site. it's been a mess lately, too much work not enough time for myself [lol] Recently received a nasty gram off my site that came from the link below in my sign.. The IP was 66.32.166.64
I come here to help out not to deal with crap like that!

Thank you guys. I appreciate the comments.
Rick the image is sized at 570x509 I've used a layer for the image to keep it constant. That's the original size of the image. I know I could resize it with a graphic program like PSP but it seems to loose some clarity. So I've sort of built the page around the image. The little one really likes having her &quot;work&quot; online ;-).
I will change the spelling of Tech-Tips wierd how you don't notice things like that.
Bummer about the nasty gram Onpnt some people have to much time on their hands. Thanks again.

Hi mate,

Things I noticed were as follows:

1) The &quot;Email me&quot; link jumps really bad on mouseover.
2) The navbar on the right overlaps the description that is displayed on mouseover of the options.
3) The quote under the picture of the man is not obvious enough that you can scroll to read more, it looked to me as if the text was just cut off.

BTW, these were all in 1024 resolution.

Hope this helps Wullie

Thanks for your input Wullie I've fixed the navbar thing, tried to reduce the space to fit smaller screens. I've changed the message on the email link and made the scroll bar more visible. What do you think now?

Hi Glenmac

Viewed in IE6 1024*

The page is a bit wide, I have to scroll sideways unless I maximaise my browser window.

The 5 links on the right, would it be better to tighten these up a little, move 'em a bit closer to each other?
Also, i don't like the yellow hover background, perhaps try just to change the text colour and underline then?

The quotation on the right hand side, i'd remove the scroll bar unless it serves another purpose?

Your favourite links, when expanded the links are very small and the colour makes them difficult to read. again i'm not crazy about yellow hover colour! Personal preference!

I personally don't like fade effects when changing pages, it drives me nuts! :)

I haven't checked much of the code but you need to clean up your CSS a little.

Hope this helps

Cian-mac :)

i like your site, but i would change some of the link buttons to a more nicer style.

as the text is to small on the buttons and also the highlight of the buttons is yellow----wich i think is not nice...
