hi,
i would like to know if there was any other alternative to those two Mysql functions.
I use a lot of concatenation (Dbase style: field1+" "+field2 as name_whatever ), but they're not portable to mysql database.
I really don't c myself rewritting plenty line of code just because MySQL guys decided not to be SQL compliant on something so widely used as concatenation.
Any suggestion or idea is welcome.
Thanxin advance..

I had no idea Dbase was SQL compliant. AFAIK no database handles concatenation exactly the same way, because that is not really central to SQL. If you really want your concatenation to be transparent to the database, then handle it at the application level, rather than the database level. Much more flexible, also. -------------------------------------------
