AMS, How to enable internet messaging alert

Sup fellas, I'm trying to set up the AMS server. when i go to the configuration and choose Virus found i set the internet mail configuration then reply, then subject. now for the smtp server i set it to be the server name. also i have tried the internal ip address. When i hit the test button does it send a test email to my email? I just ask becuase i haven't received any emails?? is there a way to test this?

Your smtp needs to be set to whatever your smtp server is.

When you 1st go into configuration for the alert you are setting, does discovery see your server correctly?

And yes, if configured correctly you should get a test email when you click test
