Howdy,

Just got a mobo with a CNR slot. I need to get a modem, but I can't seem to find a CNR modem online. Do AMR modems work in the CNR slot? I read somewhere that there is some compatibility between these types of slots. Any info is appreciated.

Thanks,

I just bought a K7T limited edition(didnt see the reason for it being L.E. though) and the CNR slot just baffled me....do they even make modems or audio cards for CNR slots that are a reasonable price?...it will just take up space in my case if they expect me to pay 200 or so for something like that

AMR modems should work in a CNR slot. The slote are the same. I have never personally tried this. The slots are the same, just different names. James Collins

FYI the K7T Limited Edition board is different, only because it's Red, instead of green, otherwise it's exactly the same as the MSI K7T. (Nice board by the way). :) Cheers,

CNR and AMR are not interchangeable. CNR provides for a wider spectrum of NIC's to include ADSL, Cable, and standard analog modems. 3COM makes all three NIC's to fit the slot. Check with a reputable vendor and then compare on the internet, as those that do carry or can order CNR NIC's know the lack of availability and knowledge so their prices will most likely be outrageous. Also try an internet search for 'retail CNR modems'. Good Luck!!

I bought a packard bell computer (i-connect 1600rw blahblahblah) And it has a CNR slot, wich was used by a MODEM!!! (YEAH THEY EXIST!!) :):):) I have a cable modem now, so i don't use it and i have never used it also, but i u take a look on packard bell site,
You will find drivers here, but more important: The name of the modem. So if u need one, get this one......
