Greetings from Denmark,
We have Websphere MQ V5.3 running Windows 2000 sending data to Z/OS.
Yesterday we experienced failures in the programs that read/write to the MQ queues. Error msg. MQRC_BACKED_OUT which is either "logs full" or "long running trans".
We use circular logging and all 5 logs were full (each 1MB). Plenty of space on the harddisk. I tried manually to delete the data in the primary log, but no luck. I stopped the trans and started it again, but it still gave the same error almost immediately. Because of that I think the problem must be a faulty wrap around (somehow).
We switched servers to get the production system up and running, but I fear the problem is dormant and will pop up one day again - probably sooner than I think.
Read everything on the Web and in the manuals, but have yet to find a clue.
Has anyone experienced anything like this??
Regards
Kirsten
