I tried to do a restore from the master/media server for a file server. The restore hung at the mounting tape section so I ended it via activity monitor. Now, when I go to view status, it shows the restore as "In Progress" although it's been ended in activity monitor for over 15 hours! I can start another restore process but it hangs as well. When I go to the file server and view status, I see nothing listed. I've rebooted the master/media server, and the robot. The only thing that's left is the file server. Is that what I should do or am I missing something?

Errors in problem logs states Couldn't open /usr/openv/netbackup/.rename.2344 on client <file server>, status 2
cannot put rename file on <file server>

Let me know if anyone has any ideas on how to "end" this in progress listing.

Sounds like a hung bpsched process. You need to check it's number and then kill that process. If all else fails - You may well have to reboot your master or at least recycle the netbackup processes.

Also - Ont he restore - It sounds like the restore is failing due to client access. Are you running the restore from an administration console? If so, DO NOT - Far too many variables to go wrong. The best is to always run a restore from the console of the media server to which the client was backed up to.

Hallo,

I have the same problem. It is every time I want to make a restore to a different location on a Netware 6 Server.

On the Netware server is no directory /usr/openv/netbackup/

Can someone help me ?
