I don't do a whole lot of fiber and to make it easy I use the Lightcrimp plus system from Amp. It is very easy BUT the fibers just barely pass or barely fail. It may be the fiber scanner but has anyone else had any problems with them.

Thanks

Not if used as directed. I did have some problems before I read the instructions.

I have done it exactly per the instructions and watched the video. It must be the scanner. I Guess I will scan a fiber pair that is known to be good

I used the LightCrimp for quite awhile a couple years back. Probably did 5-6 hundred terminations with it. Any issues that we had came back to oporator error on the termination. The standard says .75db loss per connector, and the AMP specs say .6db loss, but we were getting closer to .1 or .2 per connector. I was really happy with the way they worked. Though, we did find the rev2 of the connector was better than rev1 which had matting problems inside. I don't know what rev they are on now, it's been awhile since I've used them.
