Hi,

At the moment, all my users' Automatic Windows Updates option (through Control Panel) are greyed out and I want to change this so that they can choose when to run a Windows Update.

I can see that there is a central Global Policy section within SBS 2003 but from the existing rules, I can't see which one needs to be amended and to what (enabled? disabled?).

Could anyone give me a quick pointer as to which policy needs to be changed and how? I have Googled this problem but all the information that comes back seems to relate to Local Group Policies on individual PC's whereas I want to centrally manage them from the server.

Thanks & regards.

open command prompt and run gpresult this will give you what policies have been applied. Then install GPMC (preferably installed and run from a workstation) from Microsodft to make GPO maintenance easier. Google for GPMC.
