I just tried to install NT4 Server on a spare AMD PC (don't panic, it's just to do a bit of testing), and it won't boot after the very first reboot during the installation (after partitioning, formatting and copying files). I've never attempted NT Server on an AMD machine before.... Is it even possible (NT can be a fussy bugger).....

Cheers

I have NT4 Server (SP4) running on a (test) AMD K6/2-450 and it running fine - never crashed.

As has already been asked - are there any error messages?

Where in the boot process does it stop?

Are the disks FAT or NTFS?

If FAT, can you use a Win9x boot diskette to get to the errorlog?

Can you provide a hardware list including size of memory and disks. Are you running RAID of any style?

Cheers. "Life is full of learning, and then there is wisdom"
