Amazon Echo Connect

Bought one of these a while back as an experiment and plugged it into an analogue port and it works well, announcing calls by name if there are in your Alexa contacts, otherwise by number.

I don't think this is something to use in an open office but Amazon are offering Alexa for business in some countries.

This is currently half price for Black Friday in the UK and some other markets.

Did you try to connect it via voip?

Ordering one in the sale.

Half tempted. Whilst I don't have any personal phone line anymore (all mobile phone now), the idea of being able to shout at the test rigs to make calls is perversly pleasing. However, everyone else in the office would probably disagree.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Do it this week if you're going to, just got both devices (didn't have an echo in the office) for £40

Yeah like I need amazon listening to me yelling profanities at people once i hang up with them.

There's only an analogue connect and I am not sure if there is any way to connect SIP to Alexa.

You can also place calls by 'Alexa call <contact name> or <number>

Hmmm. it said voip/alog on the page i looked at. Mine should be here today so I'll mess around with it later.

Does anyone know if the Echo can be configured for VoIP directly?

I have an echo dot working with the Echo Connect but that is only Alog, you have to add an ATA to get it to work with VoIP
That woks fibe, but you can only have 1 Connect on an account!
