Am I loosing data?

SQL 2000 on W2K server. Performing full backup every Friday, differential backups every 4 hours, and transaction log back ups every 30 minutes to disk. My manager would like to if data is being lose while the backups are running? For example if it takes 53 seconds to perform the transaction log backup for that 53 seconds users are still updating records is that data being backed up? If so can you point me to a web site explaining this?

No it wont.Still all those transaction will be written into tran log. Next time when you backup log,all those transaction made during last tran log backup can be backuped.you wont miss any data.
