Am I caught in an endless loop?

In the taskbar of frmMainMenu of my 401(k) application I see the message "Calculating" and the hourglass appears for longer than I'd expect. Also, my record count (e.g., 1 of 609) text box takes a long time to calculate. (That's not the only time I see the "Calculating" message.)

Could this be just because I'm accessing the server from an off-site computer or did I more likely screw up my code and get caught in an endless loop?

I'm posting this question on the Forms forum also so please excuse the duplication. Ann

give us the code and we will see what we can do.

with off-site you mean, over the internet?

Hi, Christiaan. I realized a minute ago that it was always and only happening on the form where I had customized my own record count controls. I decided to simply revert to the Access navigation control and everything zips right along now.

When I have more time, I'll try the control again 'cause I think it's kinda neat looking.

Yes, I'm working from a high-speed internet connection at home accessing my office PC and network using a service called GoToMyPC. It's not too expensive and has been a life saver for me.

Thanks again for being there for me! Ann

Put a break point in your code and step through it. This will show you if you have stumbled into an endless loop, and allow you to break out if you have.

Thanks, Korn. I'm still a bit clumsy with stepping through code. Just need more experience, I guess. Ann
