By now, all of us have seen those programs that stay "Always on top". I have a Java class which shows a JFrame (just another app window...) which I want to do the same with. Is it possible to set anything in Linux to do this... ...cos no-one in the Java thread has said anything... just thought maybe it was possible to define a program as Always On Top in Linux... any ideas??? napa1m

I know items have stacking layers in Gnome 1.4 (haven't checked yet for 2.0). I would assume there is some way to set that for Gnome using java. Sorry can't be more speciffic, all my programming experience is with windows (ironically, since I use only linux at home).
