Always make temporary files...

Dear all,

That any body can help me...
I have problem with my program, almost every day my server will make temporary file. And some times that files make my work station hang...! when i try look on my server in Connection Informatioan ( I use Novell Netware Ver. 4.11 ) every work station always make 1 temporary file when open the main program. I try to resolve the problem with making overlay, but still have same problem...

I use clipper 5.10 for create the program.
I have 17 workstation with different departement, with 10 pcs for sales, 5 for accounting and 2 for my bos.

Allmost 200 invoice transaction every day.

Temporary files are created all the time by clipper, generally for handling virtual memory functions - and speeding things up.

Normally Clipper clears these up - but there are occassions when this isn't possible - when the code crashes, or when the place the files were made does not have delete rights (pretty unusual - but it does happen).

Clipper is pretty good and the files always have no extension - so you could make a batch file that clears them for you.

This happens always all the time when using Clipper 5.0(1) You really should switch to 5.2e to get rid of this bug.
Still doesn't stop your app from creating the temp-file, though ;-), just as Griff wrote, it's needed bij the VM system.
