This is an unusual request.

Is it possible to set an individual agent up so that they are always logged in.

The reason is that I want to put a phone onto the reception desk and I do not want to risk the users not logging the phone in.

risk" and "users".......good luck!

I don't think that there is any way of doing this, other than taking the responsibility away from the users..

We have a phone that must be logged in otherwise the fire/disaster message gets played. We keep it in security with a box over the top..

It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.

Why don't you have a special Agent ID fro disaster messages. We have a similar set up where by we have a script where by if a disaster agent is logged in then play message otherwise carry on

We have a requirement to play a variety of messages to our help desk callers according to the outage. There is a standard agent that is logged in to trigger the emergency treatment

IF NOT LOGGED OUT AGENT 911911 THEN
EXECUTE emergency_section
END IF

IF NOT LOGGED OUT AGENT 999019 THEN
GIVE CONTROLLED BROADCAST ANNOUNCEMENT
PLAY PROMPT
VOICE SEGMENT vs_999019
GIVE RINGBACK
END IF

IF NOT LOGGED OUT AGENT 999004 THEN
GIVE CONTROLLED BROADCAST ANNOUNCEMENT
PLAY PROMPT
VOICE SEGMENT vs_999004
GIVE RINGBACK
END IF

etc
etc..

The voice segment has the same name as the agent that triggers it to make it easy for the users to keep up with the messages (they manage the content of these themselves). It's a high volume service, hence give broadcast as opposed to open voice segment

Hmmm... not sure about the last post, but:
pdulfo, it would be a little hairy to set up but you could do it by monitoring Meridian link transactions. If (when) that 'phone logged out you could have a script log it back in. Not something for the faint of heart and you need to make sure you understand the transaction stream.
