How do I set up Outlook so that I am always sending in HTML format?

At the moment when I press New it is in HTML format. But when I Reply or Forward it starts as Text format.

Checking, there does not seem to be a forced setting for this.

It appears to adopt the character of the mail that you are replying to. Try this out by having some one send you an email with HTML formatting, and one in plain text, check the reply text type.

I would think that this is by design as some mail clients can not receive other than plain text.

Hope this might help clear this up

rvnguy is correct. Email always keeps the format received when replying or forwarding. This is by design, and shouldn't be changed. Not all email clients support HTML email, so you don't want to reply to, say, a plain text email with HTML.

Also, many anti-spam, anti-virus, and anti-phishing applications and services strip out HTML code.

This is not true when using Outlook Express though

OL & OE are different Applications. Your question was about OL...
