We are having a problem where you always have to type HTTP:// before the web address in outlook. It used to just figure out the address. Has anyone had this problem before?

Thanks,
Dan

Sorry, not Outlook, I meant Internet explorer......DOH!

You can just type in Yahoo or Google and hit Ctrl+Enter it should resolve the address. I believe it automatically doing it depends on whether or not you clean out cached website names.

If anyone calls and says "I know a little something about computers" just tell them to reformat it.

it's ok...I have fixed it now. There was a registry fix for the URL prefix. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\
Windows\CurrentVersion\URL\Prefixes and simply add the http:// to the bit were it says www. Works a charm!

Cheers,
Dan
