has anyone been able to get another brand of phones to work with the MAX1000 system like cisco, snom or polycom.

No, even though most voip phones use the same or simular format for sending and receiving audio, they use proprietary formats for addressing the phones themselves. Such as how the buttons function. The only non-Altigen voip phones that will work are SIP phones because they only send/recieve audio, which is the VOIP equivalent to standard analog phones on POTS lines. While I don't know specifically which ones, so far Altigen has only given certification to a couple SIP phone makes and models. I work for a authorized Altigen dealer and I'm a certified Altigen technician. If you have any other questions about Altigen, I might be able to answer them for you, please email me at ceo255(at)sbcglobal.net Replace the (at) with the appropriate symbol.
