Has anyone had any luck building a decent personalization/membership service similiar to whats offered in Microsoft SiteServer? I've been looking at alternatives to SiteServer using ASP and a SQL database, but could use some help.
SiteServer works ok, but it can be a real pain to administer (add new users, modify parameters, etc.) I figured since I only need the personalization and membership portions, it's kind of overkill to use SiteServer and I could probably build a much better, more efficient service with ASP.
Just thought I'd throw it out there and see if anyone has worked with anything like this.

We also looked at Site Server for it's e-commerce utilities. However after looking at what it offered we decided to just build our own using ASP. What we have ended up with is faster and much easier to maintain. So I guess I would say for the money you are probably better off just doing it yourself. Just a personal opinion though.
