Hi,
If we wanted to ditch MS Access because of the cost of having to by Office Professional just to get it, what would be the way to do this?
shoudl we get Visual Studio and convert the MS Access DB over to a full blown visual basic application, and then we would only require the basic version of office for word / excel & outlook?
Or is it possible to go .NET and turn everything web based?
But then how would I create XLS spreadsheets, or utilise mailmerges in Word?
Is it worth trying to ditch MS Access or is the boss just being tight?
If we moved away from MS Access, they'd still have to train me in the new platform / language and provide the environment, so is it worth the move.
Is it worth it just to get training in .NET or full VB ?
Cheers,
