Hi all,

Since the new version of DTS (Integration Services) for SQL Server 2005 does not support the Dynamic Properties Task, does anyone have a suggestion for an alternative?

I am trying to soft code values using both INI file entries and SQL Server table values. The Dynamic Properties Task worked well for this. The Package Configuration Wizard does not seem to allow you to select from user SQL Server tables or INI files.

Any direction would appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Gordon

Actually I am new to SQL 2005 myself but the little I do know suggests that the new way of doing this would be to use a .xml file to store the configurable options.

However to dynamically change properties during execution then you need to set variables and use expressions (you can set these at different levels eg package, container or task level I believe).

The website has some articles that goes through all of this with some straightforward examples.

cheers
