Alternative storage devices

I would like to investigate any methods to implement some kind of HSM using any out-of-the-box features of NetWare. I remember HSM in one form or another was included with NW 4.1, but I don't recall and can't find anything in 6.5.

Right now I have a SAN which is about 60% full, however about 80% of that data never changes and I would like to migrate it to some form of near-line storage. I have Sony AIT-2 libraries available for this purpose. Our primary backup system is TIvoli Storage Manager, and we could leverage that as well.

Any input at all would be appreciated.

I've been told by Novell people that OES version 2 has this capability and it's similar to HSM but different enough that they have their own patents pending for the technology. Supposed to have some features that are better than what HSM can do.
